November Notes

Hello, Folks,

Boy, It sure is dark out now. Daylight Savings is always a tough hit, as I wake with the sun and go down with the sun usually, and now I find myself spinning in circles. My body wants to rest, but my brain knows it has so much to do!

I would like to invite you to our upcoming Guild meeting on the 18th of November, at the Buffalo Municipal Airport, 7PM. Doors open at 6:30 for table set-up and a bit of socializing. Naomi Binsfeld will be leading us in a postcard project — Naomi, please tag on here what is expected and what supplies, if any, we need to bring with us.

We enjoyed making corn husk ornaments for our tree, for the Festival of Trees — I am still awaiting an answer whether or not we have one. If I don't hear this week, I will be reaching out as we need to set a time to decorate it with a small group of volunteers.

We also have been asked to design/paint one of the full-size buffalos you see around town — if you have an interest in being part of the work/design team and I haven't already heard from you, let me know as I am hoping we can get started soon. I just need to make contact with the owner one more time before we can begin.

I will also be sending additional emails about various things that have come up and instead of attaching on this one, it's easier to just forward to all of you, so be watchful for them.

Our website is coming along... Shari has a design worked up and is looking for quotes from some of our Guild members.  If you have one you love, or words of wisdom, please pass that along to me or Shari.  shari.l.zimm@gmail.com.  Hoping to have this up and running for the new year!

Looking ahead, we will have our holiday party in December, hosted by Sarah and Chole. Ladies, let me know if you need anything from me.

Guild members, I invite you to reach out to me about hosting upcoming workshops/demos/ meetings for the new year. It is a great way for all of us to learn new techniques, and takes the burden off of me to come up with ideas. You can always let me know what you are interested in and we can lead ourselves, or, we can hire a demonstrator.

Lastly, I hope you all have found time to work on your art. I am really looking forward to playing around a little now that the orchard is done. Winter is a great time to gather and inspire each other, and it doesn't have to only be at Guild meetings. If anyone is interested in meeting up to "play,"  it's the perfect excuse for me to get creative. Give a shout if you find yourself with extra time or feel like hosting a gathering. I will reach out by email when I can host. Spontaneity is always exciting!

If you haven't already, make sure to vote tomorrow, and please share some love for our veterans on the 11th. We are able to live our days with abundant freedom because many have sacrificed so much for our benefit. "All gave some, some gave all."

We must never forget.

Warm Regards,

Tamra
